When you arrive at the security checkpoint, you’ll need to remove certain items from your carry-on and place them in a bin for separate X-ray screening. Screening officers and checkpoint signage will guide you through the process.
Items to remove and place in a bin:
Personal items
- Loose change, keys, and small metal items
- Tip: Place these items inside your carry-on before screening
Liquids, aerosols and gels
- Must be in containers of 100 mL or less
- All containers must fit inside one clear, resealable 1L plastic bag (one bag per passenger)
- CT X-ray exception: At CT equipped screening lines, these items may stay in your carry-on
Laptop
- Remove from its case
- Place flat in the bin with nothing on top or underneath
- CT X-ray exception: Large electronics may stay in your carry-on
CPAP Machines
- Remove the main unit from its carrying case and place it in a bin
- CT X-ray exception: Medical devices may stay in your carry-on
Exempted liquids
- Certain liquids, and prescription and essential non-prescription medications are exempt from the 100 ml liquid rule
- Remove these items from your carry-on bag and place them in a bin
Outerwear
- If you are wearing a jacket, coat, or bulky sweater over your clothes, remove them and place them neatly in a bin
Duty-free purchases
- Must be properly sealed in an official security bag and accompanied by an itemized receipt
- Place directly in a bin for verification
Personal bag and carry-on luggage
- Place directly in a bin for screening.
